OverviewSOFTWARE DEVELOPER : (2024-22028)Bowhead seeks a Software Developer to join our team in Crane, IN at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC Crane). This is an mid level Software Developer positon which will support a unique database that tracks and manages weapons systems for the various branches of the US Military. The Software Developer will be responsible for applying standard programming procedures and knowledge of programming to assist the Small Arms Weapon Systems Division to include the development and modification of programs to ensure compatibility. ResponsibilitiesEssential functions will include : Developing, modifying and maintaining client-server programs using languages including, but not limited to, ASP.NET 4.0 / 6.0, MS SQL SERVER 2016, SSIS, IIS 10, VB.NET, JavaScript, XML, SSMS, Adobe XFA Forms, Access 2013 / 2016, and Visual Basic for Applications. Designing and implementing modifications to files and records within programs per direction from higher level staffMonitoring the operation of programs, troubleshooting and repairing problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding Completing testing of programs, documenting all steps and maintaining operator instructions for programs developed and modified Will access and edit the web server at the data center using experience with MS SQL Server 2016Other duties as assignedQualificationsBA / BS from an accredited institution in Information Technology, Computer Programming or related field. Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience.Must posses a Security certification Must have experience with ASP.NET 4.0 / 6.0, VB.NET, JavaScript, SSMS, XML and Visual Basic for Applications Must have experience with MS SQL Server 2016, SSIS, IIS 10 and Access 2013 / 2016 Must have experience with Adobe XFA Forms and Microsoft Active Directory Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certifications and complete a minimum of twenty (20) hours of continuous learning per year to maintain credentials required for accessing and making changes to the web server located at SPAWAR Charleston.
