Job Overview
Bowhead Environmental Services is seeking highly motivated and flexible individuals to join our on-call spill response team in the North Slope region.
Responsibilities
- Provide critical support for land-based oil spill response operations as assigned by our project managers.
- Participate in regular spill response drills and exercises to maintain our clients' compliance with industry standards.
- Document spills through photographs and collaborate with project managers to determine the most effective response strategies.
- Conduct monthly inventory of equipment and provide detailed reports to our project managers.
Requirements
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to oil spill response tactics in Arctic environments.
- Flexibility to execute instructions and thrive in dynamic work environments.
- Successful completion of a 40-hour HAZWOPER course and annual 8-hour refresher course.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Work Environment
Employees may be required to work in confined spaces and may be exposed to hazardous materials, fuels, solvents, cleaners, dust, fumes, smoke, and gases. Irregular working hours are common, and employees must be prepared to work in extreme Arctic conditions including low temperatures, high winds, icing, and moisture.
