Job Description:
- Work activities will include operating various pieces of Heavy Equipment including rock trucks, bulldozers, roller compactors, scrapers, shovels, excavators, tractors, loaders, and forklifts. Applicant will be responsible for performance of assigned tasks in accordance with established safety policies.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform heavy duty equipment operation as directed by the site superintendent
Required Skills:
- Must have operator’s proficiency on a variety of equipment including but not limited to rock trucks, bulldozers, roller compactors, graders, scrapers, shovels, excavators, tractors, loaders, and forklifts.
- Perform independently without direct supervision
- Ability to operate basic construction equipment, such as forklifts and loaders.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform duties and operation of tools of the trade in strict compliance with OSHA rules.
- Have punctual and on time work history.
- Not been terminated within the past 6 months of employment with UIC or its family of companies.
- Work well with in a team setting
- Must be able to have good motion of range for body and limbs
- Be able to reach in all directions
- Handle and manipulate objects and material
- Coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet and fingers to complete assigned tasks
- Perform prolonged standing (2-3 hour intervals).
- Able to utilize adequate visual skills.
- Able to utilize adequate hearing skills.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Ability to work at heights above 12’ while working from ladders, scaffolding, and/or man lifts.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- CDL certifications required.
- Must have comprehensive working knowledge of commercial construction.
- Must have 5 years of related experience in commercial construction.
- Must have 5 year of prior work history as a heavy equipment operator.
- Must possess and maintain current driver’s license.
- Must have a punctual work history.
- Experienced excavator
Must have a high school diploma or Equivalent.
