What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Team Member position at Bowie County Detention Center?
The job does require this position to obtain a Jailer's License as required by TCOLE to assist as needed in performing the job duties of a Jailer.
Hours: Hours of assignment will be 12 am-12 pm.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid Driver's License (No ID card will be accepted in lieu of a DL), Birth Certificate, Social Security Card and HS diploma or transcript to being to the interview.
- Must be able to pass medical, psychological and drug testing.
- A criminal background check will be conducted. No arrest.
- Must obtain TCOLE jailer's license within a year of employment.
- Must be knowledgeable in the use of industrial kitchen equipment.
Examples of Job Duties:
- Must cook in large quantities using industrial kitchen equipment.
- Maintains a continuous count of inmates assigned to the kitchen.
- Maintains a current inventory of all tools, equipment and supplies assigned to the kitchen.
- Ensure the work site is clean, safe and kept in compliance with jail standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,746.50 per year
