Summary/objective

Texarkana Tractor Company manages thirteen dealerships, comprising ten Kubota dealerships and three New Holland dealerships throughout east Texas and central Arkansas. The ideal candidate for this position should have a high school diploma or GED and at least five years of experience with tractors, mowers, side-by-sides, or auto shop experience. It is required that the candidate has reliable transportation and an unrestricted driver license with a clean driving record.

Essential Functions

• Extensive, in-depth diagnostic, repair, and recondition, of equipment including but not limited to, tractors, small engines, lawnmowers, all-terrain vehicles, construction, and farm equipment.
• Maintains accurate records of work performed.
• Reports work shortages and malfunctions of shop equipment to the Service Manager.
• Completely disassembles and inspects equipment timely.
• Recommend necessary repairs to the Service Manager.
• Keeps shop vehicles clean and properly serviced.
• Report any problems to the Service Manager.
• Participate in continuing education with factory service schools.
• Makes service calls as assigned by the Service Manager.

Work Environment

Occasionally travel to job sites or training, work in both outside and inside environments. At times, temperatures may be below 30 degrees or may exceed 90 degrees. Occasionally (< 25 % of the time). There may be intermittent exposure to vibration and noises over 85 dB, as well as exposure to non-toxic fumes, grease, oils, and gases.

Physical Demands

Work involves repetitive work of a mechanical nature with regular, 50-100% of the time will require bending, stooping, and standing, including the need to move and lift heavy objects weighing 50lbs to 100lbs.

Required education and experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• An associate degree in diesel technology or completion of a traineeship is required
• At least 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic is required

Preferred education and experience

• National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence certified diesel mechanics are preferred
