Responsibilities
Job Description:
- Assist with coordinating and supervising all SGA, CAB, Royal Court, and NSE & SE, activities, programs, elections, and off-campus trips.
- Co-advise SGA, CAB, and Royal Court through meetings, events, organizational communication, one-on-one conferences, teambuilding sessions, and leadership retreats.
- Co-advise students with the planning and execution of annual events (e.g., Welcome Week, Homecoming, Torch Fest, Bulldog Ball, etc.).
- Compile and maintain statistical information on all SGA, CAB, and Royal Court related activities, members and space request forms.
- Maintain the Department’s website and event calendar.
- Coordinate events and provide support to the Commuter Students.
- Advise Commuter Student Association.
- Create, provide, and submit annual and monthly reports as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. A Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Services, Counseling, or related field is preferred.
- A strong background in student development, theory and practices is required.
- The Assistant Director must demonstrate effectiveness in planning, developing, advising student organizations, conflict resolution and implementing programs geared to fostering the educational process outside of the academic classroom for students.
- The Assistant Director must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with faculty, students, and staff.
- Must also possess the ability to design and implement high-quality activities, programs and services for students. Professional attitude, strong customer service skills, strong communication skills and advance computer software knowledge of MS Office/Outlook is expected.
- Must have the ability to be flexible in work hours to include some evening and weekends.
