Job Description
The program liaison is responsible for managing, organizing, and implementing projects, tasks, materials, and resources to ensure that they achieve the intended goals and objectives. The project liaison filters and attends to the day-to-day functions of the project.
They perform a variety of project management and administrative tasks to support the project, and they are the “go-to” person for the project to allow the director and principal investigators to focus on research, evaluation, higher-level leadership, and strategies to achieve goals and objectives.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the director, assistant director, team, or designee on all aspects of assigned projects.
- Manage, organize, and implement projects, tasks, materials, and resources.
- Manages some projects or significant project components in collaboration with the director, assistant director, principal investigators, internal and external partners, and postdoctoral fellow.
- Create and deliver presentations and materials about the project for students, families, educators, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate with students and families regularly and timely to ensure that the program meets their needs.
- Conduct school visits to share information about the project with students, families, administrators, and counselors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation of students (and families) interested in and participating in the projects.
- Creates and maintains a Google Drive or One Drive with project documentation and files, including all pertinent design documents, presentations, process flows, reports to funders, project descriptions, etc.
- Work with the director and team to hire and train mentors (e.g., high school, college, professors, teachers, etc.).
- Plan recruitment, engagement, and learning events for students, families, or mentors.
- Design and maintain the project web page on the university website.
- Actively participate in project design, development, and refinement of plans, timelines, deadlines, schedules, and budget discussions with the team.
- Draft, create, refine, and/or maintain project plans, schedules, and timelines, including determining tasks, due dates, and milestones in concert with the director.
- Meet with the director and assistant director weekly/bi-weekly to organize, manage, coordinate, and monitor workload, operations, and projects.
- Creates and maintains project calendar, assists with scheduling all project-related meetings and communications, and ensures minutes/notes are taken during meetings.
- Interface and meet with external partners at Prince George's County Public Schools, Prince George's Community College, and others as needed.
- Advise Black male students academically during the Early/Middle College portion of the program.
- Conduct work needed at Prince George’s Community College to support students, the grant, and Early/Middle College part of the program.
- Collaboratively develops agendas for external partners and internal project teams for project-specific meetings; prepares meeting materials and records minutes/notes and team progress.
- Assist with cost estimating and tracking.
- Assist in the data collection and analysis as needed.
- Coordinate and maintain resources and materials needed for the project.
- Lead, Plan and Facilitate Black Male Teachers College Program sessions on Saturdays or other designed dates during the program duration in the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Lead, Plan and Facilitate Black Male Teachers College summer residential (or non-residential) program during the designated timeframe. Residential programming is the intended method for the summer.
- Maintain and manage resources, supplies, and materials inventory levels; anticipate and evaluate needed supplies, resources, and materials; place and monitor orders for supplies, resources, and materials; and verify receipt of supplies.
- Work with the director, team, or others to create a mentoring handbook.
- Research and summarize requested or needed information for reports.
- Creates and maintains personal work plans to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the director and assistant director.
- Consistently deliver the highest quality customer service to the university and external stakeholders, partners, and students.
- Have a working knowledge of the University’s facilities, services, academic and campus resources, advising, and student-related policies and procedures.
- Interact and communicate effectively in oral and written form with internal and external parties courteously and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on projects, tasks, and assignments.

- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of technologies required for operations and programming, including but not limited to Zoom Meetings, MS Teams, Blackboard, Blackboard Collaborate, BSU Email, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Drive, the Internet, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.
- Must have high interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
- Experience working in an administrative or project management support role.
- Must have experience working with middle and/or high school students, school professionals, and families.
- Must have a bachelor's degree or higher.
- Must be able to work in person. There are opportunities to telework that the director or assistant director must approve.
- Must learn university electronic systems to perform job duties and responsibilities.
- Complete job duties and responsibilities by the designated time.

- The project liaison is a grant-funded full-time in-person position for 40 hours per week in an office environment. The hourly compensation is commensurate with education, training, expertise, and experience. There are opportunities to telework that the director must approve.
- A contingent I contract is administered every six months and is renewed for another six months based on satisfactory job performance. Full-time contingent I position can be one year at maximum.
