Objective

Work with the “Build-up” team to build mattresses while maintaining the established Bowles quality and safety standards. Performs tasks to contribute to the manufacturing success of Bowles Mattress Company.

Organizational Relationships

Reports to: Production Lead

Supervises: None

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

a) Participate in morning team “huddle” meetings at 7:00 am each weekday.

b) View daily “priority list” to determine assignments for each day.

c) Working on cutting table, collect and assemble components in accordance with specifications using hand tools and supplies such as fabric, innersprings, foam, etc.

d) Utilizing a glue gun, spray glue onto the back of quilted panels and apply poly topper to glue.

e) Upon finish, recheck quality and move products to the tape-edging area.

f) May be required to disassemble and rebuild mattresses for repair or comfort change.

g) Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

a) Ability to follow verbal/written directions.

b) Ability to problem solve when needed.

c) Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment preferred.

d) Strong work ethic.

e) Professional, respectful, and positive approach when working with the other Bowles Team Members.

Mental and Physical Requirements

· Ability to work with hands and tools in a safe and effective manner.

· Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.

· Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and or carry product-related items.

Working Environment and Conditions

· This position involves working within a factory environment with equipment and noise common to a factory.

· Ability to work full-time, Monday-Thursday (7:00 am – 4:30 pm) through Friday (7:00 am – 11:00 am).

Education, Experience and Training

· A high school diploma is preferred.

· Ability to fluently read and speak English.

· Factory experience preferred.

Equipment and Tools

· Experience operating hand tools and manufacturing equipment preferred.
