Summary: We’re looking for a dynamic, creative, and highly motivated Communications Lead to join our non-profit organization. In this role, you will be the driving force behind promoting Bowling Green through our digital platforms, including websites, community calendars, and mass media channels. Additionally, you will coordinate and facilitate monthly meetings to ensure smooth operations.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be eager to bring fresh ideas, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. While some tasks may be routine, we’re seeking someone who can keep content fresh, inject creativity, and consistently maintain brand awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Execute Communication Strategies: Design and implement communication strategies to promote the organization’s mission and activities.
- Content Creation: Write and craft engaging content for mass media, including press releases, and maintain content on the organization's websites.
- Collaborative Content Development: Work closely with event leads and management to create compelling content for weekly reminders, e-blasts, social media posts, and press releases.
- Website Management: Ensure the organization's websites remain up-to-date, functioning smoothly, and aligned with brand standards. Oversee plug-in management and technical updates.
- Organizational Efficiency: Maintain well-organized filing systems for both digital and physical documents.
- Office Operations: Manage and troubleshoot office equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Additional Duties: Take on other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience with a valid Ohio Driver’s License, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills and knowledge.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Web Design: Strong skills in WordPress for web design and content production.
- Email & Form Tools Expertise: Experience with MailChimp and Google Forms to create effective communications.
- Clear, Engaging Writing: Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and audience-focused content.
- Project Management Knowledge: A solid understanding of project management principles to coordinate and oversee multiple projects efficiently.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of photo/video editing software is a plus.
- Creative Suite Familiarity: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is an asset.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, able to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Relevant Educational Background: Degree or professional experience in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
