Job Title: Paraprofessional/Special Education Student Aide (9th Grade/Regular High School Classroom Setting)
Work Period: August 1st – May 22nd
Start date: August 11th, with additional dates for training and getting to know student after hire
Job Details:
- Full School Day: 7-8 hrs, Monday-Friday during the calendar School Year.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Hold or be eligible for an ODE Educational Aide Permit
- Experience working with children in an educational or caregiving environment preferred
- Assist in the educational and social development of a high school student on the Autism Spectrum under the direction and guidance of the school intervention specialist and classroom teachers.
- Assist in the implementation of the students Individual Education Plan (IEP) and help monitor their progress.
- Provide support for the student inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
- Work with other professionals, such as speech therapist, occupational therapist, intervention specialist, and school counselor.
- Communicate with parents on student progress and other school related needs
