Job Summary:
An HR intern performs various administrative tasks in support of the HR department. They update employee databases, gather payroll data, screen resumes, schedule interviews, post job ads, and assist in preparing HR-related reports. Additionally, they address employee queries, distribute company policies, and participate in organizing company events. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in HR processes, allowing interns to gain a comprehensive understanding of HR functions and contribute to the smooth operation of the department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Update our internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms.
- Gather payroll data like leaves, working hours and bank accounts.
- Screen resumes and application forms.
- Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates.
- Post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks.
- Prepare HR-related reports as needed (like training budgets by department).
- Address employee queries about benefits (like number of remaining vacation days).
- Review and distribute company policies in digital formats or hard copies.
- Participate in organizing company events and careers days.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Completion of Junior year in an accredited bachelor program.
- Educational background in Human Resources Management or similar field
- Familiarity with HRIS, ATS and resume databases
- Experience with MS Office
- Good understanding of full-cycle recruiting
- Basic knowledge of labor legislation
- Organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Regular and reliable attendance required
Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a teammate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The HR Intern is required to work in an office environment and on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the teammate frequently will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat and/or cold. The teammate may continuously work near moving mechanical parts. The teammate will be exposed to loud noises from production equipment and thus will be required to wear PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be high at times due to production and mechanical equipment noise.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be performed by a teammate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to set, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; see, talk and /or hear. The teammate will be required to lift, twist, climb, bend, stoop and crouch.
The teammate will need to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
