Job Summary: The Project Engineer is responsible for the overall coordination of engineering projects to support manufacturing operations. The incumbent in this role must be able to be a leader and subject matter expert in engineering as it relates to projects within the company.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Identifies, develops, plans, and implements capital projects as needed.
- Provide direction and leadership in projects by leading technical project teams.
- Organizes tests to improve efficiencies according to the manufacturing schedule.
- Prepares and distributes a description and timeline of the project.
- Creates project plans and harnesses resources to ensure project milestones are met within timeline, quality, and budget constraints.
- Consult with Andros’ specialized operations teams on specific subjects both abroad and locally.
- Review product design proposals and work with management to develop project objectives.
- Identify project responsibilities by determining various phases and elements of the project. Calculate time frames and sequences the stages of the project.
- Act as a subject matter expert during the commissioning of new lines and helps workers understand their proper duties.
- Support the plant by defining improved process flows and continuous improvement efforts.
- Trained to understand the mechanics of the production line machines in order to design and optimize new and current product format as well as line efficiency.
- Ability to troubleshoot product manufacturing issues that are experienced on the production line and offer short and long term solutions with maintenance and production team.
- Supports manufacturing issues, and troubleshooting as assigned.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S) engineering or a related field (i.e., design management, project management, capital investment management) or 5 to 8 years of experience working in a similar role.
- Prior manufacturing experience, food preferred.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
- Skills in material flows, continuous improvement practices, and process analysis.
- Self-motivated, hands-on individual with keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills who can follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to create and follow a project budget with a focus on ROI.
- Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new process developments.
- Ability to balance needs such as worker safety, process efficiency, and budgetary constraints.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a teammate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Process Engineer is required to work both in an office environment and on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the teammate frequently will be exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme heat and/or cold. The teammate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places and has to the risk of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises from production equipment and thus will be required to wear PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be high at times due to production and mechanical equipment noise.

While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel objects, equipment, or controls; reach with hands and arms; see, talk and /or hear. The teammate frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, sit, crouch, or crawl. The teammate will frequently travel up and down stairs and other uneven work surfaces. The teammate is occasionally required to taste, touch or smell.
