What You'll Be Doing
- Serve as a technical expert for Microsoft server and cloud-based environments.
- Design, deploy, and maintain server infrastructures (on-prem and cloud) for SMB clients.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Tier 2 and 3 issues in both Windows and Office 365 ecosystems.
- Lead system upgrades, migrations, and complex deployments across client environments.
- Create transition plans and test strategies for infrastructure modernization efforts.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and configurations.
- Collaborate with support, application, and training teams to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Mentor junior engineers, assist with technical escalations, and share best practices across the team.
- Own the incident lifecycle from escalation to resolution and provide proactive system monitoring and improvement.
Technical Requirements
- 5 years of experience in IT support or systems engineering, preferably in an MSP setting.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022), including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPOs.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and task automation.
- Strong understanding of DNS, domain management, and file sharing technologies.
- Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware hypervisors.
- Solid foundation in local networking technologies and general troubleshooting (LAN, switches, firewalls).
- Experience supporting and maintaining various line-of-business applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE, Azure Fundamentals or higher).
- Experience in database administration and support.
- Understanding of REST APIs and application performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of licensing structures for third-party and Microsoft apps.
- Background in MSP environments or client-facing technical roles is a strong plus.
