Bowser Collision Center in Murrysville is seeking an experienced Body Shop Service Appraiser/Estimator to schedule repair work for the Body Shop and to sell additional needed services and repairs to customers. The Body Shop Service Appraiser/Estimator maintains dealership standards of quality and the highest level of customer satisfaction (CSI).
Essential Responsibilities:
- Greets customers and obtains customer and vehicle data.
- Schedules appointments for repairs.
- Determines general nature of repairs needed and writes a clear description of customer needs on the repair order and/or works with insurance adjusters as necessary.
- Walks around vehicle with customer noting any additional damage. Also points out other repairs or maintenance for which the customer has a need.
- Provides customer with estimated repair costs and anticipated time of completion.
- Arranges rental vehicle for customer if appropriate.
- Verifies intended method of payment.
- Obtains customer signature on repair order.
- Maintains contact with technicians throughout the workday.
- Maintains optimum CSI.
- Administers appropriate warranties.
- Test-drives vehicles as time permits.
- Notifies customer when repairs are completed.
- Delivers vehicle to customer at pick-up and reviews work performed.
Education and Qualifications:
- PA Appraiser License
- High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Experience in an automobile dealership body shop or independent body shop facility.
- Professional appearance and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing between 10 and 25 pounds.
- Ability to drive cars and trucks automatic and manual transmission.
