General Summary of Responsibilities:
This employee is responsible for assisting radiologic technologists and sonographers in the Diagnostic Imaging Department and shadowing. The Tech Aide will be able to make efficient use of technologist resources. This person should possess a pleasant disposition and care for the patients in a supportive manner, maintain an organized work area. This employee will be expected to perform a variety of operational duties, such as be able to use the phone system, computer systems, file and prepare documents and assist in performance improvement projects. This employee is responsible for reception duties at the Imaging/reception office. This employee will work alongside the Imaging Office Clerk to coordinate patient appointments, scheduling, charge verification, and possess a pleasant disposition and care for the patients in a supportive manner. Maintain an organized reception area and an orderly fashion of the waiting room. This employee will be expected to perform a variety of operational duties, such as be able to use the phone system, computer systems, file and prepare documents and assist in performance improvement projects.
Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to perform all major life activities including, but not limited to, caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, seeing, hearing, eating, sleeping, walking, standing, lifting, bending, speaking, breathing, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, communicating, and working. Specifically, you must be able to perform standing, walking, lifting and bending for the entire duration of the shift and on call hours.
- Data entry for exams in EMR and PACS.
- Sending and receiving exams to/from outside providers/facilities.
- The exam room set up and clean up.
- Patient transport, exam prep, and screening
- Assist with scheduling, charge verification, and appointment reminders.
- Delegate tasks to technologists and radiology staff as appropriate.
- Provide education and assistance to new staff for EMR/PACS, etc.
- Takes departmental phone calls and handle messages.
- Perform a variety of department operation duties that will require on occasion independent judgement and good organization skill.
- Collaborate and interact well with the staff, allied health care personnel, physicians, patients and the community, in order to care for patients and project a positive image of the department and the hospital, and to coordinate quality patient care with special attention to patient age and needs.
- Collaborate with all other departments to coordinate quality patient care with special attention to patient age and needs.
- Complete reports, surveys, audit work papers and other requests for information as necessary.

Other Job Functions:
Actively participate in quality improvement projects as requested. Stock supplies are located at the front desk and waiting room, and assists stocking supplies in the department as needed. Participate in performance evaluation by identifying individual goals and reviewing progress with the department manager. Serve on assigned committees. Maintain confidentiality of the hospital related information. Documents and update procedures related to job position. Have a positive attitude toward work and staff. Participate in teaching, mentoring and overseeing students enrolled in Imaging Technology Programs during clinical rotations and students shadowing in department as part of an internship or cadet program. Expected work hours up to 8- 12 plus (On call if needed) Follow the Standards of Behavior. Utilize TeamSTEPPS tools. Participate in Patient Experience. Performing any other duties as assigned

Education:
Required: High School diploma (or equivalent). Must be enrolled in a Radiology program.
Preferred: Associates or higher in Office Management.
Experience:
Required: Computer skills, with the ability to use a variety of computer programs. Excellent customer service and telephone skills. Experience working with patients of all ages and health conditions.
Preferred: Previous experience in a medical facility.
License/Certifications
Conditional: CPR certified within 3 months of employment.
