TITLE: Rehabilitation Technician College Student

Essential Job Functions:
1. Assists licensed rehabilitation staff in the provision of patient care including, but not limited to:
a. Properly assisting in the set-up and disassembly of therapy modalities and treatments on patients including, but not limited to hot/cold packs, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and iontophoresis, as well as therapeutic exercise.
b. Assisting therapists with patients of all ages as demonstrated by age specific competency testing.
c. Provides therapists with appropriate information regarding patient complaints of and reactions to treatments.
d. Assists with fitness center orientations and all related paperwork.
e. Transporting, assisting, and preparing patient and equipment for provision of care.
2. Performs clerical duties including, but not limited to:
a. Makes a conscious effort to analyze the entire schedule and efficiently schedule patients and ensures that patients are scheduled for the appropriate number of visits, and s the therapist to changes in scheduling.
b. Assists therapists in time management to ensure that all scheduled patients are seen, documented on (including updates to physicians), and are charged for services rendered.
c. Answers phones, handles messages, and ensures that all new patients have a complete chart made and that all information collection in performed.
3. Including but not limited to: retrieval of orders from providers, photo copy/complete daily logs, fill and pull patient charts, input charges accurately, document statistics, efficiencies and referrals and log patient numbers, order supplies.
a. Enter outpatient, inpatient, swing bed, and nursing home charges for the day.
Other Job Functions:
1. Assist in: departmental cleaning, professional month activities, establishing and maintaining professional and beneficial relationships with referral sources.
2. Participate in departmental and hospital programs to ensure the highest quality and efficient delivery of quality care. To include but not limited to: departmental chart reviews, policy and procedure manuals, and quality assurance issues.
3. Document usage of Departmental Policy and Procedure Manuals as well as participate in yearly review of policy and procedure manuals.
4. Attends 80% of scheduled departmental in-services and meetings.
5. Maintains a clean working environment by assisting with departmental cleanings both scheduled and unscheduled.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Education:
Required: High School Diploma College student enrolled in PTA/PT/OT/COTA programs must be starting Sophomore year or above
Experience:
Required: Be proficient with computer skills and programs including, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
Preferred: Prior experience working in rehabilitation or other health care facility with direct patient care. Experience with Dairyland computer software systems would be recommended.
License/Certifications:

Conditional: CPR certification within 3 months of employment.
Personal Skills: This person shall have the ability to be a self-starter, arrange priorities, and organize work. They must possess the ability to pay close attention to detail while performing the job. Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills, to effectively work with all parties the position comes in contact with. Must possess a positive attitude and be willing to represent the department both internally and externally in a positive manner. Adhere to BBGH Standards of Behavior document.
