Medical Assistant (C.M.A.):
The C.M.A. plays a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by supporting medical providers and nursing staff. Responsibilities include greeting patients, rooming them, and scheduling various diagnostic exams and consultations to ensure continuity of care. Strong verbal communication skills are essential for interacting courteously and professionally with patients, providers, and staff.
Key duties include:
- Preparing patients for examinations.
- Taking medical histories and assisting physicians during exams.
- Explaining medical procedures to patients and calling in prescriptions to pharmacies.
- Collecting laboratory specimens and sterilizing medical instruments.
- Conducting waived testing and maintaining quality management and safety protocols.
- Interacting positively with patients and healthcare professionals, even in stressful situations.
- Adhering strictly to safety and infection control procedures.
Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.):
