Non-Certified or Certified Surgical Technician or Surgical LPN with On-call
This position is an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. The surgical technician works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The surgical technician possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Due to changing organizational needs, work hours may vary. Rotating Call Due to changing organization needs, work hours may vary. Tech or LPN may be required to be cross-trained to other nursing areas. A 30-day notice is required when an employee resigns. Performs other duties as assigned. Attendance is essential. Expected to work up to 12 hours plus call
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
or
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program or Surgical Tech Program
Licensure:
Applying for LPN -- LPN license, or license from a participating Compact State
Certificatio ns:
Maintains--- BLS for healthcare workers within 3 months of hire.
If applicable, CST Certification for Surgical Technician
Post-offer/pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.
