General Summary of Responsibilities: This employee procures radiographic examinations as well as medical imaging examinations. The health care providers of Box Butte General Hospital ordered these examinations. This service is done in accordance with as through the implementation of the hospital's plan to provide diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging examinations for Box Butte General Hospital. These services are provided in an ethical, professional manner.
- Must be able to work shifts during the day, nights, weekends, holidays and rotating call schedule
- Performs radiographic examinations and related procedures using a variety of technical skills and organization and cross-trained in CT after department orientation.
- Works under the direct day-to-day supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager
- Responsible for quality assurance and quality control activities of the radiographic procedures.
- Communicates and interacts well with the staff, allied health care personnel, physicians, patients, and the community, to project a positive image of the department and the hospital, and to coordinate quality patient care with special attention to patient age and needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of hospital-related information
- All full-time and part-time employees are required to take possible and PRN staffing as needed.
- Transport patients to and from various patient care areas, being aware of individual patient needs.
- Maintain and complete patient records and reports.
- Maintain proper radiation protection for self and patients.
- Flexible and ability to adapt to every changing workload, with the willingness to cross-train into other modalities of radiology.
- Participate in performance evaluation by identifying individual goals and reviewing progress with the department manager.
- Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by meeting annual requirements for validation of competency in specified skills.
- Be able to concentrate on work with many interruptions and have good memory retention for work and causes completed for the duration of shift and on call hours.
- Perform any other assigned duties as assigned.
Education:
Required: High School education (or equivalent). Graduate in good standing from a JRC/AMA Radiologic Technology Program. Associates Degree in Applied Science. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
Experience:
Required: Formal training in a JCAHO facility.
Licensure/Certifications
Maintains current and valid AART,
State of Nebraska License Medical Radiographer
