What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technician (Scrub Tech) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Box Butte General Hospital?
Position Overview:
Join our dedicated team of medical professionals in providing exceptional surgical care to patients. As a Surgical Technician, CST, or Surgical LPN, you will play a crucial role in facilitating safe and effective surgical procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and surgeon. Your expertise will help ensure that the operating room environment is safe, equipment is functioning properly, and procedures are conducted in a manner that maximizes patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to support invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and relevant tools and technologies to aid the surgical team effectively.
- Be adaptable to changing organizational needs, including varying work hours and potential cross-training in other nursing areas.
- Participate in on-call rotations as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, with attendance being essential to team operations.
- Work up to 12-hour shifts, including on-call responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program or Surgical Tech Program
Licensure:
- LPN license (if applying for Surgical LPN) or license from a participating Compact State
Certifications:
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire)
- CST Certification (if applicable for Surgical Technician)
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of a post-offer/pre-employment background check and drug screen is required.
