Bartender

Boxcar Bar Arcade is looking to add an enthusiastic, professional bartender to their team. The ideal candidate has several years' experience bartending in high volume bars, nightclubs, music venues or restaurants. They have a passion for guest service and a strong working knowledge of craft beer, mixology and the legal responsibilities of serving alcohol safely.

Bartenders will work a variety of shifts including opening, mid, closing and private events.

Cicerone Certified Beer Server and/or ServSafe Alcohol Certifications are a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

• A passion for guest service and adding to the overall guest experience.
• A positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
• Ability to enforce company policies, as well as state and local alcohol laws tactfully regarding the consumption of alcohol.
• Knowledge of Boxcar Bar Arcade bar menu including general cocktails, shots, specialty cocktails, craft and domestic beer and non-alcoholic offerings.
• Accurately free pour exact measurements and pass frequent pour tests.
• Knowledge of the Point-of-Sale system and ability to open, maintain and close tabs with accuracy for inventory.
• Responsible for basic math and accurate cash handling of assigned cash drawers throughout the shift.
• Multi-task and serve multiple customers at one time without compromising accuracy or guest satisfaction.
• Serve as a private bartender in our event space for private events and follow specific instructions from the private event contract, host and Event Coordinator.
• Complete all tasks associated with keg changes such as line cleaning; tap handles; menu changes; and tap new keg when barbacks are not available.
• Complete tasks such as cutting fruit; stocking the bar; refilling ice; cleaning mats; sweeping and mopping; and other necessary tasks when barbacks are not available.
• Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the bar, keg cooler and backstock through daily opening and closing duties; weekly side work assignments and other necessary or assigned tasks.
• Participate in Boxcar Bar Arcade sponsored events by dressing in themed costumes and adding to the overall ambience.
• Attend regular bar staff meetings; all staff meetings; and alcohol service training courses as required by Boxcar Bar Arcade.

Job Qualifications:

• Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to maintain an impeccable attendance record.
• Ability to work weekends and shifts that correlate with the needs of the business.
• Must be 21 years of age or older

Pay: $500.00 - $1,200.00 per week
