Furniture Mover

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Lead Mover to join our team. As a Lead Mover, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the transportation of goods and belongings for our clients. This position requires team management skills, physical stamina, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. You will be responsible for driving box trucks, loading and unloading, assembling and disassembling furniture safely and efficiently while ensuring a positive experience for our customers. Key Responsibilities and skills below:

Customer Interaction:

• Communicating with clients to explain the moving process, answer questions, and provide clear estimates.Address customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Ensure customer satisfaction with the moving process.

Preparing Estimates:

• Visiting potential clients' homes or businesses to evaluate the items to be moved, including their size, weight, and fragility.Creating detailed written estimates that outline the scope of work, costs, and payment terms, as well as calculating labor costs and transporting goods.Strong math skills are necessary for accurately calculating costs and providing estimates.

Scheduling and Dispatching:

• Schedule and dispatch movers, trucks, and equipment to various locations based on customer requests and needs.Prepare schedules and route plans. Monitor the progress of moving jobs and adjust schedules as needed.

Communication and Coordination:

• Communicate with movers, supervisors, and customers to relay information, address concerns, and resolve issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with clients and explaining complex information.

Software Proficiency:

• Familiarity with CRM software and other relevant computer programs is required. Utilizing company software to input customer information, track estimates, and manage schedules.

Field Service

• Must own a tablet/laptop reliable vehicle and cell phone. Work on the road meeting with potential customers, driving 26Ft box trucks and complete some heavy lifting, when required. Moving industry experience is a must.

Flexible Work Schedule:

• Expect to work approximately 4-8 hours shifts per day. Mornings, evenings and weekends availability.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a mover or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the workday.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience as a delivery driver is a plus.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
• Ability to operate a box truck or van safely; training may be provided for the right candidate.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.45 - $21.45 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 30 per week
