What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Lead position at Boy Scouts of America?
Essential Functions:
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel.
- Oversees the daily workflow for staff and skilled employees.
- Maintains acceptable productivity and quality levels.
- Monitors and documents daily KPI’s for reporting to Manufacturing Manager.
- Serves as the first point of contact for machinery issues, including embroidery machines, rotary engravers, and DTG printers.
- Serves as backup to other Manufacturing Lead aiding in duties including Digitizing.
- Coordinates with equipment vendors for replacement or repair issues.
- Monitors raw materials inventory levels.
- Maintains a safe working environment.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience using Wilcom Embroidery software, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop highly preferred.
- Experience delegating or directing tasks.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in manufacturing production processes and machine operations; inventory management principles and practices; safety protocols and regulations specific to the warehouse environment; warehouse equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to establish priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, resolve problems, report results of the processing flow on shift production summaries; communicate clearly and concisely with team, supervisors, and other stakeholders; build rapport with team members, foster a positive work environment, and handle conflict effectively.
- Ability to commute to and from the work location in Charlotte, NC, Monday through Friday.
- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information.
- Hearing acuity for verbal communication, conversations, face-to-face interactions, and/or responses via telephone and telephone systems.
- Speaking ability for general communication and ability to clearly enunciate in conversations with others.
- This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Work environment includes moderate noise levels from embroidery and sewing machinery, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
