Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn individual to join our team as a Facilities Technician. This role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge in facilities maintenance and a strong willingness to receive specialized training in greenhouse systems, growth chamber maintenance, and refrigeration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of greenhouse systems and growth chambers.
- Work closely with the Building Coordinator to address general building maintenance needs.
- Participate in training programs to develop expertise in controlled environment systems and refrigeration.
- Support lab staff by responding to service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related fields (preferred but not required).
- Basic understanding of electrical systems or willingness to learn through training.
- Interest in developing expertise in greenhouse systems, growth chamber maintenance, and refrigeration.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
- Willingness to pursue Electrician and/or Refrigeration licenses with employer support.
- Familiarity with growth chamber equipment is a plus but not required.
- Technical aptitude and a proactive approach to learning new systems.
