DESCRIPTION:
Performs maintenance, repairs of company owned fleet vehicles under limited supervision.
Compensation: up to $35.75 per hour.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous mechanical experience preferred
- Must be able to read and comprehend repair manuals
- Must have shop required hand tools
- Ability to use micrometer and other testing tools
- Good interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs work assignments on company owned fleet of trucks, cars, road tractors, trailers, etc.
- Lifts parts and equipment components that weigh no more than 50 pounds
- Operates and moves equipment being repaired in and out of shop service bays
- Writes accurate and legible Service Reports, reads and comprehends blueprints, technical data and service manuals
- May be required to possess a Commercial Driver's License based on department operational needs
- Performs assigned shop repairs on vehicles in a timely and efficient manner
- Uses proper test equipment to troubleshoot for needed repairs
- Projects a positive company image with fellow employees, customers, and management; complies with company dress code
- Keeps work area clean and orderly; follows all work safety rules and procedures
- Ensures accuracy of work orders by charging parts and labor to proper work order segments
- Owns and maintains sufficient hand tools to perform the job
- May be required to work overtime if needed
- Performs other duties as necessary and assigned
