Structured Cabling/Low Voltage Technician
BCS has been in business since 1999. We are seeking a senior-level technician with experience with network cabling installations, security systems, access control, fiber optic cabling.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial/residential low voltage.
- Technical Work
- Install, troubleshoot, and service: CCTV, Access Control, and burglar alarm systems
- Run, terminate, and test copper cabling (Cat 5 or Cat 6)
- Mounting devices
- Perform basic AV installations (TV Mounts, Video Walls)
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals
- Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs when applicable
- Security Alarm Systems, Access Control Panels, and devices: 1 year required
- IP Security Camera Installations
- Wireless Access Point installation
- Configuring network equipment such as routers and access points, and an understanding of IP networking - subnets, the OSI model, etc.
- TV and surround sound integration, home theater design.
- Preferred experience with programming one or more control systems such as Control4, Savant, URC, RTi, Elan.
Responsibilities:
- A full-time position (7AM to 5PM) with potential for before-hours or after-hours work according to customer needs. For example, new construction sites may demand earlier hours in the summer months and some sites may request work to be done outside of their business hours.
- Must be able to work off a 20’ ladder, outside on roofs, and in confined spaces. May be required to lift, up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Knowledge of and strict adherence to construction and safety standards.
- Valid Texas Driver License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
- Ability to pass an FBI background check and obtain a Texas Alarm Installer’s License.
- Professional appearance and attire. Company shirts are provided and expected to be worn every day.
- Proficiency in the English language.
