What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Boyd Industries, Inc?
This position provides manufacturing leadership and excellence to build a world-class production operation. Lead, motivate, and develop production employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing performance results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement (Lean/TPM) tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork. As a member of the Boyd management team serves as the focal point for employee safety, end-product quality, on-time fulfillment and production cost improvement for assigned product line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day-to-day activities for Boyd’s manufacturing work centers to include dental/medical chair assembly, subassembly, machine shop, upholstery, plastic thermoforming, and powder coat paint.
- Provide business and technical leadership necessary to ensure the product line production team meets and/or exceeds goals in critical manufacturing success areas. Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas of the plant.
- Works to continuously improve in all areas by establishing and sustaining effective management relationships in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.
- Develop deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Supports the company’s ISO 13485:2016 QMS by assuring compliance with established procedures, process, and protocols. Ensure that production facilities and finished products meet the company and FDA regulatory standards of quality, sanitation, and safety.
- Responsible for planning, budgeting and forecasting department resources including staffing, inventory, production equipment, maintenance and other production support items.
- Able to effectively train, mentor and coach employees. Conduct employee evaluation as requested, follows through on career/skill development goals/improvements set with employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business or Management major preferred, or equivalent job-related experience.
- 5-7 years of manufacturing management experience.
- Demonstrated experience using Continuous Improvement or related strategies (Lean, TPM, Six Sigma) to drive performance.
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to implement change, influence business strategies, and resolve conflict.
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change.
- Demonstrated understanding of technology i.e. complexities of products, machinery, and costs.
- Good analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble- shooting skills
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, processes, and reports.
- Possess knowledge and use of Microsoft word processing, database, and basic computer applications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
