Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medicaid Paralegal to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the Medicaid application process and at least 1-2 years of experience as a Medicaid Paralegal
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Medicaid applications, ensuring timely submission and follow-up with clients and relevant authorities
- Directly communicate with clients, social workers, hospitals, and nursing homes to gather essential information for case files
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using document management systems, ensuring seamless collaboration with colleagues
- Prepare and submit community and institutional Medicaid applications, including any required supplementary documentation
- Calculate and prepare Promissory Notes as needed, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Assist clients with asset transfers to meet Medicaid eligibility criteria, providing expert guidance and support
- Track Medicaid applications and provide regular status updates to clients, ensuring transparency and clear communication
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, adhering to firm policies and procedures
- Proficiency in medical records management, discharge planning, and behavioral health practices.
- Strong understanding of case management principles within a legal context.
- Familiarity with medical coding is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, attorneys, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
