What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sugarloaf Summer Scenic /Bike Lift Operator position at Boyne Resorts?
A Sugarloaf Summer Lift Operator assists guests in getting on and off chair lifts by operating lifts, including inspecting and testing for safety before opening. Lift Operators also maintain corrals, ramps, and work areas by performing tasks such as clearing debris and ensuring the area is clean and safe. Summer Lift Operators will also handle downhill bikes that can weigh up to 70lbs and will assist in maintaining or building surrounding landscaped areas and lift ops decks used for loading and unloading guests, bikes, or other assorted equipment. A Sugarloaf Summer Lift Operator must be reliable, energetic, outgoing, and able to interact with guests in a friendly and fun manner. This is an outdoor position, and work occurs in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities
- Operates the assigned lift in accordance with standard procedures and written or verbal instructions to provide safe, uphill transportation for guests and employees.
- Assists with clearing debris and maintaining proper ramps, corrals, and work areas.
- Handles by loading or unloading downhill mountain bikes that can weigh up to 70lbs.
- Assists in maintaining or building landscaped areas by handling/spreading dirt, mulch, crushed stone, loam, sod, or helping with building/maintaining decks used for loading and unloading guests, bikes, or other assorted equipment.
- Assists with the inspection of the lift prior to operational start-up, which includes emptying trash containers, continually checking the status of proper signage, tissue dispensers, and assisting in the daily checking of switches, chairs, and grips.
- Employee must become familiar with the area (lifts and trails) and also know the functions of other departments.
- Advises and assists guests as needed in a courteous manner.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will:
- be available for weekend and mid-week work shifts
- have some customer service experience
- enjoy working as part of a team in an outdoor setting
