PRIMARY FUNCTION :
The Teen Programs Coordinator is a full-time position reporting to Academic Success Director. The position will serve as a key staff member responsible for implementing the design, coordination, and delivery of teen strategy at the High School & Middle School level. This position will work in collaboration with roles at all middle school and high school after school program sites to deliver high-quality, data-driven, and purposeful programs and services that enhance the lives of teenage youth and prepare them for higher education and / or careers. The Teen Programs Coordinator supports the development of goals and strategies and is responsible for leading all functions of recruitment, service, and programs.

Leadership
- Establish activities and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
- Create a system in which employees can perform at their best by creating clear goals and expectations related to your program
- Communicate, interpret, and enforce policies and procedures established by BGCC
Membership Recruitment and Retention
Promote and stimulate program participation by leading and implementing a variety of recruitment, retention and recognition strategies.Register new members and participate in their Club orientation process.Provide guidance and role modeling to members.Program Development and Implementation
This role requires a passion for working with teenagers and a commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for them to grow and develop.Assist members with homework, establish meaningful relationships, and encourage positive reinforcement.Plan and implement programs and activities, including academic enrichment, healthy lifestyles, and character and leadership development.Ensure member safety, provide effective guidance and role modeling, and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment.Develop and implement curriculum for teens, focusing on skill-based learning and technology integration for all college & career readiness programs and leadership.Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to enhance program offerings and outcomesManage inventory of program equipment and supplies, and perform administrative duties as neededProvide support and guidance to youth participants in extracurricular programs, higher education selection, and additional resourcesProactively recruit and develop a retention strategy for teen members to maintain the goal average daily attendance at each location.Keep up to date and accurate case management files and all else trackers information for all youth at assigned sites.Manage and cultivate relationships with volunteers, providing them with guidance and support to enhance their contributions to programming, while also creating opportunities for meaningful involvement that enriches the overall experience for teen members.Seek out enrichment and academic opportunities for the students including programs, scholarships, internships, extension classes, and community service opportunitiesCollaborate with Development team to contact and coordinate guest speakers from various professional fields to share information with members about careers and college experience.Ensure members are recognized, parents are informed, and community partners and schools are engaged in events and programs such as Youth of the Year, Jr, YOY, Keystone, Torch Club etc.Supervision
Supervise, train, and evaluate all site staff working with middle school and high school members and report progress to supervisors and Academic Success Director to ensure productive and effective performance.Train and evaluate selected staff assigned to run any teen related programs.Serve as lead staff in absence of Site Leads.Assist supervisors in the recruitment, training, and monitoring of staff and volunteers.Maintain members' order and discipline by managing members' behavior; reinforce rules of the Club and all the recreational areas.Ensure a productive work environment by participating in regular unit and organization staff meetings.OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Help develop injury prevention methods, evaluate injuries.May participate in special programs and / or events.May be required to assist in other program areas.Assume other duties as assigned.RELATIONSHIPS :
Internal : Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive / provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines / instructions; instruct; and advise / counsel
External : Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to promote BGCC programs and assist in resolving problems
Requirements
SKILLS REQUIRED :
Minimum of two years of college experience or Working towards a College DegreeExperience in working with childrenKnowledge of youth developmentValid State Class B Driver's License with passenger endorsement and youth bus certificate (Preferred)Good level of responsibility, reliability, and punctualityAbility to provide guidance, assistance, and / or interpretation to others on how to apply procedures and standards to specific classesAbility to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive data and informationAbility to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of actionAbility to motivate youth and manage behavior problemsAbility to deal with the general publicAbility to plan and implement quality programs for youthAbility to organize and supervise members in a safe environmentMandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications and TB clearanceMust be fully vaccinatedValid State Driver's LicenseENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Tasks are regularly performed with moderate exposure to environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, and temperature and noise extremes.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Tasks involve the ability to exert physical effort, typically involving some combination of standing for long periods of time, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling of objects and materials up to 50 pounds.
