Enhancement Instructor-Performing Arts (Chaperone and transport members on weekly ballet field trips)
Job Title: Enhancement Instructor-Performing Arts
Department: Programming (21st Century)
Reports To: Director of Programming
Primary Function:
Develop and implement a curriculum that will provide instruction and training for members of all ages and work at a variety of levels. Conducting a well- rounded program in dance, music or drama by implementing programs that enable youth to become proficient in basic disciplines and apply learning to everyday situations.
Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):
- Promote and stimulate interest in the arts and encourage participation by all members.
- Requisition needed supplies
- Plan and follow through on recognition program for youth completing specific programs
- Provide participant assessments, monitor participation and progress.
- Enforce Boys & Girls Club rules and program guidelines
- Ensure facilities, equipment and supplies are given proper care and maintenance
- Participate in staff meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Relationships:
- Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer) Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
- External: Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schoolsexternal staff and volunteers, donors and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Florida Teaching Certificate a Plus
- Minimum of 1 year teaching experience
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word required),
- Strong organization skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
