What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Educator position at Boys and Girls Clubs of?
Job Summary:
As a dedicated and passionate professional, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing diversified programs in two or more of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta's core program areas.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth, knowledge of youth development principles, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to motivate and manage behavior problems, as well as plan and implement quality learning programs for youth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create an environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
- Promote and stimulate daily learning center program participation and special event programs
- Orient new members to learning center program, special events, and opportunities
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members
- Implement, monitor, and evaluate programs, services, and activities for members
- Maintain order and discipline of club members and supervise volunteers and program assistants
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to a minimum of three years
- Experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and manage behavior problems
Work Environment:
The job requires daily contact with club staff, club members, outside organizations, and individuals to plan, coordinate, and deliver programs. The ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing over 25lbs is essential. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. Travel to special events and field trips is also necessary.
