PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAM:
The Family Based Recovery (FBR) is an intensive, in-home clinical treatment program for families with infants or young children (birth to 72 months) who are at risk for maltreatment, adverse development outcomes, and removal from their home due to parental substance use. The overarching goal of the intervention is to promote stability, safety, and permanence for these families. Treatment and support services are provided in a family-focused, strength-based, trauma-based, culturally competent, and responsive to each child's individual needs. The clinical team provides intensive clinical psychotherapy and substance use treatment for the parent (s) and attachment-based parent-child therapy to the parent-child dyad.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The FBR Therapist provides community/home-based FBR treatment services to families fulfilling the role as the Parent-child clinician and Individual Substance use Clinician based on the case assignment. Therapists also assume responsibility for coordinating the provision of services by other community professionals. Therapists work a flexible schedule to accommodate individual family needs and respond to a crisis, as required by the model, including some evenings and weekends on call (no in-person sessions). Each clinician serves as the parent-child clinician for 12 of the 24 families on a full caseload and the individual/substance use clinician for the other 12 of the 24 families.
?ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct initial assessments including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying protective and risks factors, and developing analysis of hierarchy and relational assessment within the family
Provides assessment and treatment interventions consistent with fidelity to evidence-based model.
Provides reunification services to child in placement and family of origin
Performs home and community-based care to address clinical needs of clients through model adherent FBR interventions.
Continually assess for levels of engagement of all key participants and collaborate with supervisor and stakeholders to overcome barriers to engagement
Documents ongoing client progress and outcomes consistent with model fidelity.
Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
Maintains collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers.
Provides crisis assessment and intervention to monitor status of clients in crisis.
Participate in on-call rotation system, responding to families via phone during times of crisis
Works with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans consistent with model and contract requirements with step down to support services.
Maintains clear and concise model adherent documentation of sessions and collateral contacts that promote monthly supervisory review according to agency policy ?? ??????
Participates in weekly supervision, consultation, and meetings to review client and program progress.
Staff Training: All FBR staff will receive model specific training. Additionally, Clinical Supervisors will facilitate weekly case consultation with FBRMDO, and quarterly booster training and meetings with FBRMDO. Completes session recording as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Master's degree in social work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related Behavioral Health field of study.
Must be licensed eligible
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and at least one year's experience providing clinical services to children and/or families.
Preference given to candidates that have the following knowledge base:?
Home based therapy,
Family Systems theory
Cognitive Behavioral therapies
Trauma reactions and impact on brain development
Managing emotional dysregulation due to complex trauma
Knowledge of racial disparities within behavioral health services,
Child development and its application in treatment.?
Experience providing Function Family Therapy.?
Licensure/Certification/Registration: At minimum LMSW, LMFT-A, LPC-A. Licensed preferred as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Licensed psychologist.?
