Boys & Girls Aid is looking to hire an on-call Infant Adoption Specialist to complete Adoption home studies for Oregon Families. This is a work from home position, but you MUST live in State of Oregon or within the Vancouver, WA area. This position serves most counties in the State of Oregon.

Compensation for completed home studies is at the rate of $750. Home studies each take approximately 15-20 hours of work to complete. This is a flexible position that allows you to determine the volume of work you commit to. We offer an employee assistance program, and our agency qualifies for Student Loan Forgiveness. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INFANT ADOPTION SPECIALIST

As an Infant Adoption Specialist, you will use clinical skills to provide comprehensive assessments for prospective adoptive families including visiting homes, interviewing prospective families, making decisions about the family's ability to provide a stable, safe and nurturing home for a child; produce a home study report reflecting the assessment and appropriateness for adoption. Conduct post placement home visits to provide support and resources as well as to gather information for post placement reporting.

You will work independently at your home using digital files on an agency issued computer, scheduling in office or client home based interviews and home visits for the times when it works for both you and the family. These in-person contact times can be on any day of the week and any hours that work for the participants. You will provide education and identify ongoing training needs for prospective adoptive families which may include training regarding special needs, including drug impacts. Ensure that all legal requirements (OARs, ORSs, WACs, and federal mandates such as MEPA, ICWA and ASFA) are followed when writing home study reports and participating in post placement.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN INFANT ADOPTION SPECIALIST

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work or similar relevant field (psychology, counseling, education)
  • Must have access to reliable transportation, valid driver's license and a good driving record.

  • Position may require travel for home studies and post placement visits/reports. May occasionally need to or can choose to work night or weekend hours to complete a home certification process or post placement work.
