ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE AND INTERFACES
Reports To: Director of Workforce Development
Primary Interfaces: Workforce Development team, Teen Coordinator, Teen Enrichment Specialists, Chief Operations Officer, Director of College Bound, College Bound Advisors, and community partners
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour
Hours per week: 20-25 hours
MUST BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE AND PROVIDE AN OPEN/CONSISTENT SCHEDULE. MUST BE WILLING TO DRIVE. JOB REQUIRES TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN THE MAIN CLUB AND PARTNERING SCHOOLS. SOME DUTIES WILL BE CONDUCTED OFF-SITE.
Position Description:
The Tween Enrichment Specialist’s primary responsibility is to ensure every child has a first-class after school experience. This is done by acting as a positive, engaging adult role model, teacher, coach, and mentor. Tween Enrichment Specialist must have a genuine interest in the growth, development, and provision of a safe and nurturing environment for the students they teach, inspire, encourage, and impact.
The Tween Enrichment Specialist is a part-time, permanent position reporting to the Director of Workforce Development. The position will serve as a key staff member and will be responsible for overseeing all aspect of service delivery, facility usage/maintenance and support the impact strategy of the BGC Central Orange Coast relating to tween programming at our club sites.
The Tween Enrichment Specialist plans, develops, and implements daily activities for youth ages 11-18, manages and documents program outcomes. They will work with the Teen Coordinator and Director of Workforce Development to deliver high-quality programming and services that enhance the lives of middle school and high school school youth and their families. This individual will act as a key member
of tween programming and execute programs and services according to the needs and mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast in a passionate and compelling manner.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Commitment to Safety
1. Contribute to an environment of safety through the learning and implementation and monitoring of all safety-related best practices, policies, and procedures.
2. Promote accountability to safety through consistent observation, adherence to all safety rules and practices, and proactive communication among members, parents, peers, and leadership.
3. Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child Abuse Prevention training.
4.Complete training and participate in all Emergency Preparedness protocols including drills and communication practices.

2. Work as a mentor in an after-school enrichment program providing homework assistance, academic enrichment and fitness using curriculum and materials provided by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast and through the creation of curriculum and activities.
3. Serve as a positive adult role model for children in the program through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude.
4. Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging that kids want to be in.
5. Support students in making positive behavior choices and take disciplinary measures when appropriate.
6. Promote positive interactions between parents and students in accordance with child safety guidelines.
7. Maintain student safety by accurately completing and reviewing student attendance sheets.
8. Identify student needs and communicate with Director, Teen Coordinator, General Manager, teachers, school administration, and/or parents as appropriate.
9. Participate in staff development and training activities when needed after hours or on weekends
Job Skills & Requirements
•High School Diploma and a minimum of 24-48 college units (provide proof upon interview).
•Be able to drive from various sites for additional program support, meetings, and trainings
•Have a drive to work with a diverse group of students from different socioeconomically backgrounds and levels of educational preparedness
•Exhibit the characteristics of strong leadership, patience, effective communication, and a consistent desire to learn and execute new programs
•Time management, planning, and organization skills
•Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public school setting
•Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
•CPR & Basic First Aid certified preferred (provide proof upon interview)
•Proof of negative TB test valid within the past 3 years from hire date
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Creating supply list for approval for enrichment activities
2.Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments
3.Exercise authority in programs relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
4.May be required to drive Club vehicles periodically and must maintain appropriate driving record and up-to-date credentials
5.Assume other duties as assigned
