Job Summary
PROGRAM HOURS: 10:00-6:00pm Monday-Friday. Some evening and weekend hours
*A Bachelors Degree is required
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Works with the Director of Operations to plan, supervise and implement our academic and enrichment programs at our middle school site.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Prepare Youth for Success
- Ensure programs, services and activities that prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members and quality in programs at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
- Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests and participating in all scheduled Hennessey Scholar Camp staff meetings.
Health and Safety Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program area.
- Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order. Recommend requisitions, as necessary;
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:Maintain close, daily contact with Director of Operations and other Club staff (professional and volunteer), other teachers, administration, faculty and participants to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintain contact with participants parents and to update them on progress made and assist in resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:_ A Bachelors Degree is required. Knowledge of youth development. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems. Ability to deal with the general public. Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth. Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
Be able to attend all relevant meetings or training's which will include monthly 21st Century Grantee meetings. Additional hours may be required at special events such as our seasonal celebrations and fundraisers.
