Boys & Girls Club of Elgin is looking for Youth Development Assistants!
Job Title: Youth Development Assistant
Job Type: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Job Location: Varies
Reports to: Site Coordinator
Salary: Starting at $14 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: Hours range from 15 to 20 per week. We maintain a 1:15 staff-to-child ratio.

Primary Function:
Fulfill the Boys & Girls Club mission by implementing, supervising, and evaluating activities within a specific program area, such as homework time, snack time, character and leadership development, health and life skills, education and career development, arts, and crafts and sports, fitness, and recreation, team building and more!
Essential Duties:
- Plan and implement quality programs for youth that encourage all members.
- Provide guidance and role modeling for members.
- Mentor and inspire youth, adults, and volunteers in the creative process.
- Keep records of participants, schedules, and attendance.
- Attend staff meetings and training.
- Be able to supervise a group of at least 15 members.
- Assist with serving prepared snacks and perform required program-related clerical and housekeeping duties.
- Always ensure the safety of the club members during program participation onsite and offsite.
- Other duties assigned.
Relationships:
- Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club Staff (full-time, part-time, and volunteers), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and explain guidelines/instructions.
- External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents, and others to assist in developing positive relationships and resolving problems
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Pass pre-employment background screening.
- Belief in the mission, principles, values, and standards of the Boys & Girls Club
- Must possess excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, youth, parents, local community leaders, schools, and community organizations.
- Preferred if your background is in education or child development.
Job Type: Part-time
