Job Overview:
The Boys & Girls Club is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Life Guard & Recreational Aide to join our staff. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching swimming skills and water safety to inner-city youth. The Club has a long history of offering swim lessons to inner-city youth through the availability of its on-site, indoor pool.
As a Swim Instructor, you will play a crucial role in providing inner-city youth high-quality swim lessons in a safe and supportive environment.
As a Recreational Aide, you will be able to become a positive adult mentor to inner-city youth in a safe and predictable environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all swimmers by closely monitoring activities in the pool
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their swimming techniques
- Establish a positive and engaging mentor relationship with swimmers
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe swimming environment
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Lifeguard or Swim Instructor (preferred)
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with diverse groups of people
- Experience in youth development and/or inner-city youth is a plus
