PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary function of the of the Site Coordinator role is planning, development, implentation and evaluation of a broad range of programs for youth between ages 6-17 years of age. Programs that are within the designated BGC programs in the area of Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. The Site Coordinator is responsible for recordkeeping, preparing monthly reports and providing leadership and supervision to program and volunteer staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
· Allocate and monitor work assigned to program staff and volunteers, providing ongoing feedback and regular appraisal. Identify and support training and development opportunities for assigned volunteers and staff.
· Oversee proper recordkeeping and reporting including attendance, activities and events conducted, notable achievements and any problems/issues.
Strategic Planning & Program Management/Development
· Assist in continually evaluating grant program, reporting results according to established.
· Ensure program space is well maintained to pass public health inspections
· Assist in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating overall grant programs, services and activities to ensure they meet objectives and members needs and interests.
Partnership Development
· Assist with developing and managing partnerships with other organizations, member, parents, families, community leaders and other stakeholders.
· Help to recruit families and conduct meetings when necessary.
· Serve as an advocate for Club members and youth in general by participating with schools, other youth service organizations and nonprofits such as feeding America.
Marketing and Public Relations
· Increase visibility of Club programs via posting daily schedules, announcement of upcoming events and dissemination of timely information to schools, other organizational and the media.
· Work with Director of Program Services and IEHP leadership in planning and execution of special events.
· Make yourself available to speak on behalf of the Club to interested groups by coordinating such appointments with Administrative Office.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· May oversee or assist specific programs/activities.
· Ability to have flexible schedule, some weekends, and alternative hours may be requested for special events.
· This position may require working at any of our BGCGRR locations.
· Purchase or approve purchase of supplies and equipment.
· Will be required to drive a 7 or 10 passenger van or U-Haul
· Must be able to lift 40lbs
· Must obtain a food handlers certification
· Must obtain CPR certification
· Assume other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
· Associates degree preferred, however, experience planning and supervising activities equivalent of 3 years, can be subsidized with a college degree
· Demonstrated ability in project and program management.
· Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
· Ability to recruit, train, manage and motivate people.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
· CPR and First Aid certification or ability to certify upon hire.
· Valid California State Driver’s License.
