TITLE: Youth Development Professional (non-exempt)
LOCATION: Victorville – IEHP site
SALARY: $20 per hour – part time
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
YDS work with an assigned group of students facilitating after school programs. Must monitor and evaluate situations using good judgment and behavior management techniques. Create and maintain a safe environment for members and adults within the program space.
· Motivate and encourage program participation with students.
· Provide guidance and role modeling to students.
· Provide homework/academic help
· Provide a safe environment for students through active supervision, setting clear expectations and maintaining clean program areas.
· Never leaving students unsupervised; implement and follow BGC and IEHP behavioral guidelines.
· Maintain a good reputation and moral conduct outside of work, in the community and on social media networks.
· Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior and act as a role model and mentor to youth.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
· High School diploma or GED
· Experience working with children (volunteer work counts)
· Knowledge of youth development stages.
· Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
· Ability to plan and implement quality activities for youth.
· Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
· Candidates must be 18 years or older.
· Valid State Driver License or California ID card
· Must clear Background checks and Employment Physical
· CPR & First Aid Certifications - required within 2 mos. of hire date
