Description
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting department by assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This position will handle a variety of accounting tasks, including but not limited to; determining proper coding for transactions, scanning checks for recordkeeping and auditing purposes, analyzing General Ledger, creating and managing workbooks, journal entries, and grant reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting processes, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Accounting :
- Work with Advancement to determine proper coding
- Scan and save copies of checks
- Print and save deposit details
- Read General Ledger to determine what transactions require detailed review
- Print receipts for backup of transactions
- Capture payments
- Journal entries
- Ramp Credit Card Reconciliation / Bank reconciliation
Grant Preparation and Documentation :
Create and manage workbooksPrint Labor distribution / paystubsPrint general ledgers for reviewBilling input in workbooksPrepare grant reconciliationsAdministrative Compliance :
Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time.Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure the accuracy of data and reporting.Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controlsAccountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entryAccountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectivelyFacility & Safety :
Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned work location(s)Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Education and Work Experience Requirements :
Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university;1-2 years of work experience in similar rolesMinimum Qualifications :
