PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Oversees The Club at Bayfield Summer operations and programs with primary concern for youth experience, program development and implementation; staff development; supervision of assigned staff; facilities; and budget management.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Leadership

  • Oversee the implementation and delivery of operations, programs, services and activities that facilitate achievement of Youth Development Outcomes; ensure outcome measurement and data analysis to improve quality of Club operations.

Strategic Planning

  • Oversee identification and evaluation of opportunities to improve program effectiveness based on participation and achievement of stated goals; recommend modifications to improve program performance, as appropriate.

Resource Management

  • Coordinate program budget development; monitor and report variances in revenues and expenditures.
  • Manage administrative and operational processes, overseeing the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and other facilities as necessary.
  • Manage performance of assigned staff in achieving goals, providing technical assistance in program design, development, community relations and program operations.
  • Plan and implement a staff development and training program, to include a focus on summer programming and child safety.

Partnership Development

  • Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families and community organizations.
  • Support Bayfield Public Schools as assigned.

Marketing and Public Relations

  • Participate in activities to maintain public trust in The Club at Bayfield summer programs, services and activities.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May assist in the administration of grant funded programs by overseeing program operations at each location; ensure the completion of required reports; and prepare any required interagency reports.
  • May be responsible for managing human resources programs and systems including recruitment, employee relations, training and development.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintain close contact with assigned staff to provide technical assistance in matters of programming and operations; interact regularly with Director of Programs & Outreach and, as assigned, with Bayfield Public Schools and community

External: Maintain contact with external community groups, organizations, schools and others.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • A minimum of two years work experience in nonprofit operations management and supervision, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Considerable knowledge of: the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures pertaining to youth development and out of school time activities; and the principles and practices of nonprofit organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations; in personnel supervision, ability to recruit and retain key personnel; oversee facilities management; and manage budgets
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions with limited supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, staff members, community groups, and other related agencies
  • Ability to complete mandatory CPR & First Aid certifications if not currently certified
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to perform certain duties. The noise level in the work environment can range from quiet to moderate in office settings to moderate and usually loud in recreation and play settings when children are present.

All employees working directly with children at all Summer program locations are required to work outdoors in various types of weather conditions.

PAY RANGE: $21-$24/hour (DOE, Full-Time, Seasonal)

EXPECTED START DATE: May 2025

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
