What are the responsibilities and job description for the Satellite Programs Supervisor position at Boys & Girls Club of Lansing?
General Function: The Satellite Programs Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising the Satellite location for Club members ages 7-17. The Satellite Programs Supervisor is directly responsible to the Unit Director.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Two-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people
- Able to plan, organize, and conduct group sessions and activities with youth.
- Able to recruit, motivate, and maintain youth participation in activities.
- Strong communication skills (primarily oral), patience, and positive caring attitude.
- CPR/First Aid certified or able to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Position Requirements:
- Develop and implement comprehensive programs, using achievement and behavior modification techniques.
- Supervision of the entire site.
- Request any needed supplies from the Unit Director in sufficient time for program needs.
- Maintain accurate records on activities and children daily.
- Integrate programs with the overall Club program.
- Daily and individual guidance of youth.
- Utilization of goal-setting process.
- Supervise and maintain equipment, supplies, and facility daily.
- Show creativity on programming.
- Use various resources to develop programs to fit members’ needs.
- Lead and support staff through daily supervision, task assignment and scheduling, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive team environment by promoting collaboration, professional development, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure operational effectiveness by managing workloads, upholding policies, and driving continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned
