Youth Development Specialists (Multiple Positions Available)
Provide guidance and role modeling to youth ages 6-18, while ensuring a safe and positive environment. Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate activities based in core program areas: Sports, fitness & recreation, character & development, the arts, education & career development, and health & life skills.
Must be available to work from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to drive passenger vehicles with children in them.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
- Develop positive relationships with youth while enthusiastically implementing educational and fun program activities.
- Ensure all youth are safe, and provide positive guidance to manage negative behavior and eliminate bullying.
- May be required to transport youth in company vehicles.
- Maintain and care for equipment and supplies throughout the Club.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's (in progress) preferred.
- Previous experience working with children/teens is preferred.
- Knowledge of youth development and a desire to inspire and enable youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth. Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe and fun environment.
- Effectively and appropriately communicate with parents and other staff members.
- Experience or aptitude in tutoring/mentoring all youth in a variety of subjects.
- Valid state driver's license
- Must be able to pass a background check and a drug test
