What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUMMER PROGRAM Youth Development Professional position at Boys & Girls Club of Lewistown?
The youth Development Professional (YDP) is a classroom instructor who creates educational lessons and engaging programming for children to participate in using the materials and curriculum we provide as well as your own sense of creativity. It is the ideal position for someone who is over 18, and a positive and dependable team player. YDPs use our resources to teach social emotional learning, STEM, Art, physical fitness, life skills, healthy habits, and even specific programs in their personal areas of interest! This summer position may be full time or part time with the potential to grow into a part time afterschool position depending on vacancies. The successful candidate must be available to work through the entire summer program including the week prior to Summer that will consist of training (June 5th-August 15th). The Summer program may include long days, some of which include going on walks, field trips, and/or the City Pool. The candidates selected for hire must be able to physically participate in and organize these activities.
Candidates who are hired are guaranteed a spot in the Summer program if they meet enrollment criteria. Qualifications
- Experience working with children in various settings, such as camps or childcare
- Classroom management skills
- Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred
- Ability to engage in physical activity with children
- Knowledge of behavior management and childhood development techniques preferred
