What are the responsibilities and job description for the EEC School Age Bilingual Site Coordinator position at Boys & Girls Club of Lynn?
For over 133 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn has been a leader in youth development. BGCL seeks an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated professional to oversee and effectively assist in our licensed out of school time program. This is a year-round program based out of our newly renovated state of the art facility located at 25 N Common in Lynn, MA. The Kids Club program serves up to 130 children ages 5-10, has a dynamic and qualified team of Group Leaders, a Site Coordinator, and an EEC Licensed School Aged Director.
Reporting directly to the Kids Club Director, the Site Coordinator will assist with the supervision, training, and support of the school age group leaders and assistant leaders. The site coordinator will also promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of all the children served, and oversee the development of personalized service plans, as needed. In addition, the site coordinator will provide program and activity development support, including the creation of a calendar of activities and events. Administrative and clerical tasks include, but are not limited to, the taking of daily attendance, making phone calls to parents, filing, and keeping track of all EEC required logs, coordinating staff meetings, and always ensuring the compliance of all EEC guidelines. The site coordinator must be able to interact with children and parents on a day-to-day basis and should be able to deal with unexpected situations that pertain to students, parents, and staff.
Hours: 10:00 AM-6:30 PM, (afterschool program runs a half day program from when children arrive until 6pm and a full day shift during Feb/April school vacation weeks. Please note, our summer hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The Clubhouse closes for Winter break, snow days (if decided by Executive Director) and the last week of August. The position allows for administration hours before the children arrive for adequate preparation and planning time.
Compensation: $57,000-$60,000 annually based on experience. Qualifications
· Be at least 20 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements:
o Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Child Care: and have six months of experience working with school age children; or
o Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any field or an Associate’s Degree in any field listed above and have nine months of experience working with school age children; or
o Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have one year of experience working with school age children.
· 1–3-year experience in an EEC School Age Program
· A strong knowledge of Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Regulations and Quality Standards.
· A “people-person” and team-player who will do whatever it takes to create a safe and nurturing environment for both children and staff.
· Ability to build strong relationships with parents and our partners, including EEC, CCR, transportation provider and school systems.
· Experience working with diverse /children/youth and families.
· Ability to multi-task and good organizational skills necessary.
· Bi-lingual a plus but not mandatory.

· Pass background record check (CORI/SORI/DCF), fingerprinting and two reference checks.
· Fulfillment of EEC hiring standards. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: EEC Essential Trainings, CPR; First Aid; AED.
· Arrive to work on time and ready to engage in job expectations.
· Act as a resource for parents and school community.
· Design and implement with assistance from the Administrator special events (Parent Engagement, Open House, Holiday events, Fundraisers etc.).
· Participate in professional development opportunities, trainings, meetings and workshops to meet EEC requirements.
· Wear Boys & Girls Club attire and/or club identification, adhere to professional dress code
· Evidence of physical examination within the last 12 months, and a provide immunization history.
