Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to join our Resource Development team. The Development Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's fundraising efforts and ensuring the success of our development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for making a difference in the nonprofit sector. The ideal candidate will also generate fundraising income through campaigns targeting foundations, corporations, civic groups and individual donors within the community.
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with the development team to create and implement fundraising strategies
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan regarding activities relating to donor solicitations and other Club fundraising efforts
- Manage donor database and maintain accurate donor records
- Provide writing support for foundation and corporate grant requests and acknowledgment of donor gifts
- Conduct research on potential donors and assist with prospect identification
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and reports
- Coordinate fundraising events and campaigns
- Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Develops and implements stewardship program
- Support the development of marketing materials and donor communications
- Assist with data collection and analysis to measure fundraising effectiveness
- Provide administrative support to the development team as needed
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or related field or equivalent experience
- A minimum of two years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar not-for-profit organization with an emphasis on fundraising, marketing, management, budgeting, community and/or public relations
- Experience in proposal writing, grant writing, or fundraising preferred
- Familiarity with data collection and analysis techniques
- Knowledge of wills, trusts, and estate law is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in strategic planning and relationship management
