Position Summary:
The Center Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and programming of a Club site. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, outcome-driven youth development programs that align with the Club’s mission while upholding adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Responsibilities include program development and oversight, staff and volunteer management, behavior support, administrative and financial management, marking and public relations, community engagement and partnerships, safety, and facility management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development & Oversight:

Oversee the planning, implementation, and delivery of lesson plans, programs, services, and activities to achieve youth development outcomes.

Ensure all programs adhere to the Boys & Girls Club's policies, procedures, and established youth development strategies.

Assess youth needs, interests, and characteristics to develop targeted, outcome-driven programs that are fun, educational, and enriching and that align with the core program areas.

Monitor and evaluate program outcomes using tools such as the Program Quality Assessment (PQA) to ensure quality, effectiveness, and impact.

Recruit new members to meet membership and attendance goals.
Club Experience & Behavior Support:

Promote a high-quality, Outcome-Driven Club Experience for all Club members by utilizing positive youth development principles.

Build supportive, meaningful relationships with youth and their families, regardless of background, to support Club members’ success.

Establish and enforce behavior expectations, providing consequences per organizational policy.
-
Provide behavior support utilizing trauma-informed strategies to promote Club members’ success.

Exercise authority in resolving issues involving Club members.
Staff & Volunteer Management:
-
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Club staff and volunteers in collaboration with Human Resources to ensure adequate staffing at all sites.

Provide day-to-day supervisory support, coaching, and resources to empower staff to effectively deliver and track programs and activities.

Oversee and support a high-performing Club team by offering feedback, guidance, and identifying professional development opportunities.

Conduct regular staff meetings and trainings to foster communication, teamwork, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Appraise staff performance regularly, providing constructive feedback and redirection as needed.
Administration & Finance Management:

Ensure timely completion of participation, attendance, and other grant-related reports.

Collect and maintain necessary data for grant outcomes.

Manage financial resources and develop seasonal budgets for Club site.

Control expenditures against approved budgets and recommend adjustments as needed.

Monitor monthly expenses to ensure they are within budget projections.
Marketing & Public Relations:

Support and implement marketing strategies to promote Club programs and events.

Increase visibility of Club programs through timely announcements, advertising, and promotions in the community.

Ensure program-related information is regularly updated on the Club’s website.

Distribute seasonal program newsletters and other promotional materials on time.

Foster recognition opportunities for Club members and staff by showcasing program achievements.
Community Engagement & Partnerships:

Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, schools, and local organizations.

Participate in community groups and committees to enhance networking opportunities and support Club goals.
Safety & Facility Management:
-
Ensure child safety practices always meet or exceed the requirements of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Boys & Girls Club of Portage County, government agencies, and other collaborative entities.

Assist in ensuring the overall Club environment is safe and inviting for all Club members, staff, and visitors.

Implement and maintain cleaning schedules and equipment upkeep.
Professionalism:
-
Arrive on time according to the staff schedule.

Appear dressed professionally.

Prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a manner that fulfills daily responsibilities while continuing to make progress toward longer-term objectives.

Complete assigned work by established due dates.

Participate in staff training, performance evaluations, and meetings.

Support fellow staff in meeting program goals, objectives, and outcomes.

Set a positive example both within and outside the Club.

Promptly report employee misconduct to the Director of Operations and/or Chief Executive Officer.
Additional Responsibilities:

Participate in special Club programs and events.

Maintain First Aid/CPR certification and complete other training as needed (e.g., shuttle, ALICE, etc.).

Pass annual and ongoing background checks.
-
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience (Requires a majority combination of the following):

Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, or a related field preferred

Prior work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people

Other Qualifications:

Valid State Driver’s License and access to regular and reliable transportation. Eligible and able to drive a Club vehicle and transport members.

Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations; in personnel supervision, the recruitment and retention of key personnel; facilities management; and budget management.

Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to problem solve, prioritize, multi-task, and delegate assignments to meet deadlines with limited supervision

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, subordinates, Board members, community groups, and other related agencies

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Flexibility to work hours that vary daily and throughout the year
Salary : $43,000 - $50,000
