Job Overview:
Under the leadership of the Director of Operations, the Director of Program Services plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, impactful youth programming across all Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos sites. This position supports the Club’s mission by overseeing program quality and consistency, coordinating staff training and development, ensuring grant compliance, and supporting budget planning and implementation. Working closely with Club leadership and frontline staff, this role strengthens program delivery to meet the evolving needs of the youth we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Quality & Implementation
- Monitor and support the implementation of high-impact, evidence-based, and mission-aligned programs across Club sites.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess program effectiveness and support program delivery with site directors.
- Collaborate with program staff to identify strengths, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain tools for tracking program outcomes, engagement, and quality indicators.
Staff Training & Development
- Support and maximize staff training opportunities and mentorship.
- Support onboarding of new staff, ensuring staff understand Club expectations, best practices, and youth development principles.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, mentorship, and professional development.
Grant Compliance & Reporting
- Partner with the Director of Operations and Director of Grants & Stewardship to implement and track grant-funded programs.
- Train and support staff to ensure program delivery aligns with grant objectives and reporting requirements.
- Assist in compiling program data, attendance, and success stories for reports and audits.
Budget Support
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Site Directors to monitor program budgets and resource allocations and help improve efficiency and cost savings where available.
- Track spending against program needs, ensuring compliance with philanthropic restrictions.
- Provide input on budget planning for future program needs and enhancements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in youth development, nonprofit program management, grant compliance, or a related field.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills.
- Proven ability to train and coach staff, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of youth development principles and familiarity with Boys & Girls Club program model preferred.
- Experience with program evaluation and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable with data systems, reporting tools, and budget tracking.
- Experience in grant management and compliance
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- The role requires flexibility, including occasional evenings and weekends for events and program activities.
- Work is performed in an office setting, Club sites, and community locations.
- Maintain a high energy level.
- Sit or stand for four plus hours per day.
- Pass TB Test and background check
