TITLE: Pool/Field Trip Lead Youth Development Professional
REPORTS TO: Full-Time Staff
CLASSIFIED: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Seasonal
MISSION: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
JOB SUMMARY: The Pool/Field Trip Lead Youth Development Professional plays a key role in our youth development team, focusing on the safety and well-being of youth during pool activities, field trips, and other designated areas. This position is responsible for ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all participants, both on and offsite.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for management of youth while at the pool, on field trips, while outside, or other areas assigned to by supervisor.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and feedback to youth development staff/volunteers.
- Ensures youth get to and from the pool/field trip destination safely and in a timely manner.
- Assist in addressing the behavioral challenges of young people and support the development of corrective methods and plans to help them improve their behavior.
- Ensure all pool and field trip activities are conducted according to the Club’s policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the safety and security of the youth in the facility and off site.
- Provide daily feedback to supervisor on how the day went and how things can improve.
- Ensures an environment that facilitates cleanliness, attractiveness, and safety of members, properties, and equipment.
- Participate in training, special programs, and/or events.
- Attend 100% of monthly all staff meetings and bi-weekly one-on-one meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current Lifeguard certification or willing to obtain one (the Club will cover the cost)
- Commitment to working five days a week between the hours of 7:30am-6:00pm and for a minimum of 28 hours total/week.
- Must be able to understand, implement, and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, per the Club trainings and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, etc. at the Club to ensure safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time throughout a shift
- Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
